GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR HIRE
The Company grants to the client to rent their motorcycles in accordance with these general conditions of hire which are an integral part of the rental.

The customer must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver’s license since at least 12 months. Travelers driving in Italy need their driver's license and (if you come from outside the EU) an International Driving Permit. The driver must have previous experience on a scooter or motorbike.
It is forbidden to entrust the motorcycle to a person not signed in the contract and without a driver’s license or the requirements indicated above. The customer is fully half of the guardian and must protect and use the vehicle with due diligence. It is forbidden to use the vespa to go outside of Italy without the authorization of UMBRIA IN VESPA; to carry passengers and/or property for commercial purposes, or transposed illegal goods (smuggling, drugs); to push or tow vehicles, trailers or other things; to participate in races, trials or competitions of speed; to drive under the influence of alcohol, hallucinogenic drugs, narcotics, barbiturates or any other substances that detract from the knowledge or ability to react; in violation of any provision of customs, traffic or other regulations.
To rent a vespa we need a valid document and a credit card (VISA or MASTER).
rental payment
All payments must be made by credit card or in cash prior to the consignment of the rented vespa.
The rate, agreed and indicated on the document of deliver, is based on the period of the rental declared by the customer.
The price includes a related third party liability insurance as required by Italian law and an insurance against theft and fire with fixed exemption of 1500 euro.
There is the possibility to get an extra-insurance against damages caused by you on the vespa (fixed exemption 600 euro) and to reduce the exemption (from 1500 to 600 euro) in case of fire and theft paying an extra of 18 euro for each day.
deposit..
The amount of deposit (600 euro) can be left cash at the beginning of the rental and will be paid back when the client has delivered the vehicle in the same good order and in good operating conditions as he took it over. If you have an accident, UMBRIA IN VESPA will charge your credit card for the value of the damage (up to the deductible amount), or, if the vehicle is stolen, the value of the deductible associated with theft.
delivery and return of the vehicle
The rental period is calculated on a 24 hours basis which can start at any time of the day, but must be accorded priorly and written in the contract. The vehicles must be returned at the place and at the time agreed upon and signed in the contract. If the customer wants to return the vespa to a different place and time, he must communicate this to UMBRIA IN VESPA before taking possession of the vehicle.
Any delays in vehicle restitution in excess of sixty minutes will involve extra charges equal to one extra day of rental, for every day or fraction of delay.
The vehicles must be returned in the same good condition, without apparent or hidden defects and with the same amount of fuel. In case the customer returns the vespa with less fuel than that originally supplied, he must pay a 10 euro refilling fee as well as the cost of the missing fuel. Vehicles are delivered to the Client in good order and in good operating conditions. It is the Client’s responsibility to check the overall conditions of the rented vehicle, to notify UMBRIA IN VESPA immediately and to remark the state of the vehicle on the document of delivery.
The customer is obliged to use all of the anti-theft features whenever the vehicle is parked and abandoned, although in closed places and secure areas.
If the customer looses the keys, he has to inform UMBRIA IN VESPA as soon as possible and must pay 200,00 euro and the rental cost until the keys are surrendered or until the Client has reported the fact to the Police (the Client shall return the keys and all the relevant documentation of the vehicle to UMBRIA IN VESPA) a week’s rental price in addition to the rental period. In case of lost of the documents or of the license plate the customer must pay 200 for each.
Insurance
All scooters are covered by R.C.A., a related third party liability insurance as required by Italian law and an insurance against theft and fire with fixed exemption of 1500 euro. In case of an accident, the customer must fill in, with the other party, the C.I.D. form and give it to the UMBRIA IN VESPA office within 24 hours of the accident.
The Client shall be always directly liable towards UMBRIA IN VESPA for all damages and for the relevant expenses that affected the rented vehicle during the rental period, even if these damages and expenses has been caused by pure chance. In the case of theft and fire the liability of the Client is conventionally limited to the sum of 1500 euro on condition that:
1) the theft and/or fire have not been caused by the malice and gross negligence of the Client;
2) the Client has immediately reported the fact to the Police and to UMBRIA IN VESPA (the Client shall return the keys and all the relevant documentation of the vehicle to UMBRIA IN VESPA). There is no limitation of responsibility if the customer doesn’t surrender the keys in case of theft of the vehicle.
Under Article 171 of the Italian road traffic law (Codice della Strada), the driver of a two-wheel motorcycle and the passenger wear a helmet. This applies to all motorcycles, so both for motorcycles and mopeds (ie scooters). Only those helmets used by the Ministry of Transport established standards and in accordance with the ECE (Economic Commission of Europe) No. 22-05 was built, tested, approved and those with ECE approval mark prescribed labeled. In case of a small maintenance (filling of oil, replacement bulbs and so on) which might be necessary during the renting period, the client can contact directly CIAO MOTORI at Perugia (Sant’Andrea delle Fratte, Via Manna 30, tel. +39.075.5288241). At the return of the vespa UMBRIA IN VESPA will reimburse the customer the amount paid upon submission of the original bill headed to UMBRIA IN VESPA. If the operation is not done by Europ Assistance Service (for road assistance) or PIAGGIO (for small maintenance), but from somebody else, you may have to pay the amount of the benefit.
Scooter Substitution
In the rare instance the scooter doesn’t work as promised all the possible will be done to substitute the vespa. If this is not possible the renting fee will be paid back and the customer receives a voucher for another day of free renting. UMBRIA IN VESPA può, a suo insindacabile giudizio, non concedere

In case of neglect or return in a different location from the agreed upon place, the customer must pay the entire cost
